Norma Gentzler, of Terrace Park, age 93, passed away on July 16, 2016 at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born in Butlerville, Indiana on January 24, 1923, the youngest daughter of Robert Forsyth and Lena Otten Forsyth. After graduating high school in 1940, she moved to Cincinnati and studied to be a legal secretary, eventually working for the law firm of Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister and Senator Robert Taft, Jr. Norma was a creative, artistic, generous person who was passionate about nature. She was a fierce advocate for all animals, especially birds and her beloved cats. She was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed gardening, played in numerous bridge groups, was a member of Marielders, and was a former president of the Terrace Park Garden Club. She was a gracious hostess and she loved to travel. She is survived by her older sister, Thelma Henderson of Lexington, KY; two nieces, Sharon Smith (Ron) of Fairfax, VA; and Dauna Emmich (Bill) of Baton Rouge, LA; two nephews, Joe Henderson (James) of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Dr. John B. Henderson (Nathalie) of Baton Rouge, LA, and numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as many loving and loyal friends, especially Cheryl Hern-Janovic. Her husband of over 40 years, Gordon Gentzler, and an older sister, Virginia Caffey, preceded her in death. Visitation at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford will be on Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00. Interment will be private.
