Norman Earl Ellis

Norman Earl Ellis began his lifes journey on September 21, 1920. He peacefully passed away on September 7, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. He was shooting for 100, but he was also anxious to see what was on the other side. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Rosalie; daughter, Patricia Ritter nee Ellis and son-in-law Timothy; granddaughter Kimberly Ellis and her husband Jonathan; and great grandson Jonmichael Lorenzo Ellis. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Earl Ellis. He served his country in the U.S. Navy CBs during WW II. He drove a semi-truck for 35 years, was a member of the Teamster Union and retired at the age of 57. He was fortunate enough to be retired for more years than he worked. In 1976, he and his lovely wife retired to Corpus Christi, TX. He wanted to live in a place where it never snowed. He also enjoyed sailing very much. In 1994, he moved back to Indiana to be close to his daughter. He was a unique individual and had a great sense of humor. He had a passion for living, loving and helping others. He loved his wife dearly. They married in November of 1941 and he always said that the cost of the marriage license was the best $2.00 he ever spent. Norman was an inspiration to our family; he will be deeply missed and never forgotten. The family would like to thank all the care givers and staff at Dearborn County Home Health and Hospice as well as Dearborn County Hospital. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Dearborn County Home Health and Hospice, 370 Bielby Rd. #1, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025
