Ohmar "Ogie" Megie, born on June 19, 1935, in Blue Ash, Ohio, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Springboro, Ohio. He was a devoted sign maker who proudly owned and operated his own sign shop, contributing his talents and craftsmanship to the community over the years.
Ogie was a respected member of Brecon United Methodist Church and held active membership in F&AM Sharonville Calvary Lodge #204 as well as the O.E.S. Cardinal Chapter 140. His commitment to service extended beyond his career, as he also served honorably in the Army.
He is survived by his daughter Jan (Mike) Flaig, his granddaughters Heather L. Megie and Molly A. (James) Poppaw, and his great-grandchildren Rylynn, Joey, Emma, and Sammy. These cherished family members carry forward his legacy and the love he shared with them.
Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Ruth L. Megie, to whom he was married for 64 and a half years, his son, Jim A. Megie, his parents, Estley Megie and Edna White, three brothers, and one sister.
A visitation will be held on May 27, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service from 10:30 AM at Brecon United Methodist Church, located at 7388 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249. Burial Hopewell Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio, immediately following the service.
Ogie's motto: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Diet Coke in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" Have a wonderful day! And pay the undertaker with a bad check.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children (National Office) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Ohmar Megie’s life was marked by dedication to his craft, his family, his faith, and his community. He will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, his service, and the strong bonds he forged with those around him.
