Omer Britten Kannady

Omer Britten Kannady was born March 18, 1941 to Olen Britten Kannady and Minnie Lucille Shepard in McAlester, OK. On January 22, 2016, he was promoted from this life in time to a timeless eternity with his Lord, Master, and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald Michael Kannady.

Mr. Kannady is survived by his wife Judy Ann Kannady of the home; children: Dawn Michelle Mihelarakis of Newark, OH, Cheri Hulse and husband Billy of Winfield, KS, Stacy Britten Kannady and wife Laura of Howard, OH, Darren Paul Kannady and wife Jessica of Goodland, KS, Jamy Lynn Mitchell and wife Melinda of Bailey, CO, Darla Katherine Kannady of Colby, KS, Elizabeth Ceann Kannady of Denison, TX, Charles Howard Moore III and wife Kristy of Carlsbad, NM, Christopher John Moore and wife Raquel of Gig Harbor, WA, and Brady Britton Kannady of the home; 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Hueftle of Menlo, KS; aunts, Lois Kannady and Lenora Hance of McAlester, OK; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Most people called him OB. Quite a few called him Dad or Grandpa. To his mother and to his wife, he was simply "B." He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. By trade, he was a master plumber, and for years, ran a plumbing business in Oakley, KS. He lived for many years in Tom Bean, TX, and then in Williamsburg, OH.

He died of Sarcoma. His desire was that by his life and death, that more may be learned about this rare and underfunded cancer, so that in the future, others may be successfully treated. His desire, and the family's request, is that donations be made in his name, specified for Sarcoma research at the Ohio State University.
