Penelope Herr Chapman, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by family and caregivers. She was born on December 23,1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a long-time resident of Terrace Park and Milford, Ohio.
She is remembered as a strong and independent woman, with a delightful sense of humor and a keen sense of adventure. Always a lifelong learner, she completed her BS degree in 1979 from University of Cincinnati, Evening College. She is also remembered by dozens of international UC MBA alumni and evening school MBAs for her considerate support and encouragement over her three decades working in the Graduate Programs office. Her love of travel included exploring the US, Nova Scotia, and central Europe, always accompanied by her trusty copilot, husband Henry Chapman. She was a dedicated member and volunteer at St. Thomas Episcopal Church while earning her EfM certificate.
She is survived and beloved by her daughters, Susy Evans Pannkuk (Bery) and Betsy Evans Cadwallader (John), five grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Penny’s life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Terrace Park, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations to her beloved Cincinnati Nature Center are appreciated.
