Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and her two brothers, Julian and Pete Stuntebeck. She was the stepmother to four children, Bob Taphorn, Virginia (Larry) Deters, Don Taphorn and Tom (Lynn) Taphorn, grandmother to seven step grandchildren and aunt to thirteen nieces and nephews. Phyllis was an accomplished poet and many of her poems have been published. She will not be remembered for her famous cooking or her ablility to iron a shirt. She could, however, walk into a forest and name every tree, flower and bird you came upon. Somehow she always found out what your interests were and by the next time you met, she would spark your imagination with thoughtful conversation or kind gifts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, June 29th at 10:oo AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 552 Main St, Milford. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery.
