Preston Harold Shoemaker

Preston H. Shoemaker, Clermont County, age 88 passed away 12-21-2011. He leaves Wanda his cherished wife of 65 years and devoted daughter Vonise; a niece and nephews. Preston served in the Marine Corp divisions 6th and 2nd in WWll, participating in the South Pacific action at Okinawa, Ryker Islands, Guam and Guadalcanal. At the end of the war he took part in the occupation of China, at Tsingtao, China where he acted as the liaison courier officer between five ships carrying the Peace Treaty papers that were to be signed. He later served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by General Electric and E. A. Kinsey in Cincinnati, for 40 years. Preston was appointed a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the Clermont County Zoning Commission, and of the American Legion Post 288. Per Preston's request there will be no services.
