Richard H. Stouffer

Stouffer, Richard H. Son of the late Carl Stouffer and Iona Eakle Stouffer, Husband of the late Katie Johnson Stouffer, Father of David Stouffer, the late Robert Stouffer, Jeanette Sterwerf Stouffer, the late Ann Stouffer, Brother of the late Marion Stouffer, grandfather of six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Dick was born in Boonsboro, Maryland on December 17, 1919. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston W.VA., where he met his wife of 60 years, Katie, truly the love of his life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving on the staff of General Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines. After the war he returned to Charleston, West Virginia and held several insurance positions, including Insurance Commissioner of the State of W. Virginia, before moving to Madeira to work for the Union Central Life Insurance Company until he retired as a Vice President. Dick was active in the Madeira Silverwood Church for many years, serving on numerous committees and as both a Deacon and an Elder in the church. After the graduation of their 3 children, they moved to Montgomery, OH. After Katie’s passing, Dick lived in the Pinebrook Retirement Home in Milford.

Dick loved, above all else, Katie and his family. He enjoyed a good party, good food, travel, cards, and the Reds. He was a kind and considerate man and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Madeira Silverwood Church, 8000 Miami Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45243 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will be received from 10 AM until the hour of service.
