Robert "Billy" Waits Sr., a dedicated family man and retired employee of Blanchester Foundry, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Sardinia, Ohio. Born on August 8, 1959, in Georgetown, Ohio, Billy was known for his deep love for his family and children, which was the heart of his life.
Billy's journey through life was marked by his commitment to his work and his family. After years of hard work at Blanchester Foundry, he retired with the respect of his colleagues and the satisfaction of a job well done. But it was his role as a father and grandfather that truly defined him. He cherished spending time with his three children – his daughter Shawna Waits, and his sons Robert "Boogs" Waits Jr. and Shane Andrew (Mandy) Waits – and he took great pride in his many grandchildren: Noah Lee, Joseph Lee, Brooklyn Waits, Ella Waits, Rosa Waits, Austin Lucas, and Caleb Lucas. His family was a source of immense joy and the center of his world.
Billy is also remembered by his brothers Rick Waits, Mike Waits, Ralph "Steve" Waits Jr., Terry Joe Waits, and Douglas Waits, as well as his sisters Teresa Daugherty, Jackie Campbell, and Patricia Schoenbachler, all of whom survive him and carry forward his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Joan Waits, and siblings Gary Waits, Johnny Waits, Connie McQuitty, Bonnie Lou Wait, and Tammy L. Taylor.
A graveside service to honor Billy's life will be held on June 12, 2026, starting at 12:30 PM at Mt. Orab Cemetery on North High St., Mount Orab, Ohio 45154. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, celebrate his life, and say their final goodbyes.
Robert "Billy" Waits Sr.'s legacy will live on through the love he shared with his family and the memories he created with those who knew him. His simple kindness and devotion to his loved ones have left a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.
