Robert (Bob) A. Eisenbraun, the beloved husband of Joan Eisenbraun, will be remembered for his love of family, sweets, golf, and reading. Bob was a loving father of seven, grandfather of ten, and great-grandfather of two.
On Thursday, July 22, 2021, Bob passed peacefully at SEM Haven Health & Residential Care Center in Milford, OH at age 92. Prior to the onset of Alzheimer's disease, he lived a wonderfully full life. In fact, Bob had remarked, "I couldn't have wished for a better life."
In grammar school, Bob was honored to be a standard flag bearer. He served as Junior Class President and Latin Club President at Irondequoit High School, NY. He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Bob's vast career reached from Eastman Kodak (1950-52); Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (1952-66); Gannett Co., Inc. in Rochester, NY (1966-1976); E.W. Scripps in 3 cities - El Paso (1976-83), Cincinnati, OH (1983-86) and Evansville, IN (1986-93). Although he had a successful career in finance, growing up he always wanted to be a weather forecaster.
Bob served on many hospital and corporate boards in various cities throughout his career. Business travel often took him away from family, but a memorable highlight for him was visiting the Lyndon B. Johnson Ranch in Stonewall, TX. Shortly after retirement in 1993, he and Joan moved to Las Vegas, NV, returning to Cincinnati in 2005 to be closer to family.
An avid reader, he developed a love of newspapers when his Uncle Horace, holding Bob on his lap, read him the newspaper each morning. He loved a good golf game and achieved two holes-in-one over the years, one each at French Lick, IN and the Country Club of Rochester, NY.
Daily sweets, especially cherry pie and ice cream, was routine for Bob. He was always more concerned about his family and friends than he ever was about himself. He was loved and admired by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 44 years, seven children: Jeffrey Eisenbraun of Syracuse, NY, Gayle Taylor (Brett) of Los Angeles, CA, Eric Eisenbraun (Ellen) of Albany, NY, Gary Eisenbraun (Chris) of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Eisenbraun (Donna) of Oxford, OH, LuAnn Rottert of Cincinnati, Mary Jo McClain of Cincinnati, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his brother, Alan Eisenbraun of Las Vegas, NV.
A loving Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Horizon Community Church, 4950 Newtown Road, Cincinnati, OH 45244. Visitation is at 1:30 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bob's memory to the Piano Fund at SEM Haven Health & Residential Care Center, 225 Cleveland Ave, Milford OH 45150. Tributes and memories may be expressed to the family at https://www.craver-riggs.com/.
