Robert Anthony Mahne Jr.

Robert Anthony Mahne Jr., age 88, long time resident of Milford, passed away on March 1, 2016. Robert was born in Madisonville, OH to Robert Anthony and Dorothy Blair (nee Addison) Mahne. He attended Withrow High School and entered the US Navy in 1945 serving for 3 _ years along the east coast, Italy, South America, Greece, Spain, Tangiers and Gibraltar. His ships were the carrier Solomon (CVE 67) and CUO2 USS Portsmouth. In 1949, Robert began working at Cincinnati Milling Machine for 36 years, until his retirement. Also in 1949, Robert married Ava Tarvin at the Madisonville Methodist Church and they later moved to Milford to raise their family until their recent move to the Lodge Retirement Center in Loveland. He was the loving father of Robert Anthony ( Deidre) Mahne III, and Deborah Mahne (William F.) Duncan, proud grandfather of Taryn (Mark) Heltzer, Sarah Mahne, Laura (Dan) Kerekes, Mark (Heidi) Duncan, Aimee (Tim) Howman, and Lindsay (James) Cathro, treasured great grandfather of Caleb, Madeline, Jake, and Nathan Kerekes, Noah, Colin, and Evan Heltzer, Presley and Braylon Howman, Will, Carli, Brady and Savannah Duncan , Duncan Cathro , and dear brother of the late Virginia Mahne Fille. Visitation will be 5 pm, Friday March 5, 2016, until time of funeral service, 6 pm, all at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford. Burial will take place 10 am, Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery.
