Shelly Smith

Shelly Smith, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 64 in New Richmond, Ohio. Born on January 31, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Shelly graced this world with warmth, kindness, and a boundless capacity for love.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alicia (Rodney) Abbott and Whitney L. Smith, as well as her son, Jacob L. (Michelle) Smith. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Lily Abbott, Cole Abbott, and Blake Smith, who brought immense joy to her days. Shelly was a nurturing force not only to her family but also to her children’s friends and many others who found comfort and solace in her embrace. She earned the affectionate title of “Extended Mom,” dedicating herself to looking out for others and ensuring they felt valued and loved.

Shelly was a devoted sister to Kim Blake, and her heart carried a special place for her cherished nephews, Justin Ryder and Dakota Simpson. The love she extended was immeasurable, as she effortlessly made those around her feel like family.

Those who knew Shelly will fondly remember her vibrant spirit and her love for flowers. Her passions served as expressions of her nature, reminding everyone of the beauty and joy that can be found in the little moments.

Shelly reunited with her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert L. Smith "Smitty",  along with her parents, Kenneth and Delores Blake, in everlasting peace. The love shared between them transcends the boundaries of life itself, leaving cherished memories in the hearts of those she loved.

A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate Shelly's life will be held on December 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home & Crematory - Craver Chapel in Milford, Ohio. A graveside service will follow on December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Shelly Smith may have left this earthly realm, but her spirit and legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be profoundly missed, and her life will forever be a testament to the boundless love and compassion she freely shared.
