Roger E. Stiles, Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Eugene Stiles, 73, on February 25, 2026.

Born on July 27, 1952, Roger was the loving son of Alfred and Cordellia Stiles. He was raised alongside his siblings, Donald, Sandra, Terry, and Glen Stiles, forming bonds that would last a lifetime. Roger attended Glen Este High School and carried the lessons of hard work and determination with him throughout his life.

In 1972, he married Thelma Gibbs, and together they welcomed six beautiful children: Linda, Roger, Heather, Angel, Elvis, and Geneva Stiles. Later in life, Roger married Sue Kiser and her daughter Sandy became a part of the family, expanding his role as a proud and devoted father to seven children. Roger cherished each of his children deeply and took great pride in the family he built.

Roger was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy. Being “Papaw” was one of his favorite titles, and he wore it proudly, with a mischievous grin and that unforgettable Donald Duck voice ready to make them laugh.

Known for being stubborn as a mule, Roger stood firm in his opinions and wasn’t shy about sharing them. If you asked for advice, you got it. If you didn’t ask… you probably still got it. But behind that stubborn streak was a man who loved fiercely and protected his family with everything he had.

Roger loved working on cars and could often be found under the hood, hands covered in grease. He used to joke that his hair stayed dark black because of all those years working on engines, if you looked under the hood it was always “two quarts low “.

He never missed a chance to call family and friends just to check in, talk, and spread joy.

Though he may no longer be with us in person, his voice, humor, and love will echo in the hearts of those who knew him forever.

We could talk about Roger’s life story all day, but he’d likely say, “That’s enough!”

Roger is survived by his loving blended family, who will deeply miss him. Though we are heartbroken without him here, we find comfort in knowing his heart is full of joy in heaven. The world knows how beloved Roger was, and we will always cherish his memory.

We love you always and forever, Dad, Papaw, until we meet again.
