Roy W. Poynter

We share this with heavy hearts:

LCpl. Roy W. Poynter, of the United States Marine Corps, born to the late GySgt. William Poynter Jr. and Pearl Poynter (Bessey) in Franklin, IN on September 1, 1974, was called home to Valhalla on Saturday April 15, 2023.

He leaves behind his Son, Alex Poynter (Maureen Poynter/Kinney), Grandson Elias, Alex’s mother Sarah Poynter (Noelcke), siblings Bill (Billy, Jimmy), James and Tina Poynter (Preston, Bella, Jaxon, Marshall).

Also survived by siblings Elaine, Marilyn, Debbie (late Sue); along with numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Roy will always be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, sense of humor and giant heart. He was multitalented to say the least. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or build with his own hands. His work was impressive. He no doubt will be forever missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him.

Roy’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 29th, 2023 at 11:00am with lunch served after at:

Wyoming Baptist Church

170 Burns Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45215.

Roy will be laid to rest with our Dad at a later date in a private family ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.
