Ruth "Nanny" Fields

Ruth "Nanny" Fields of Williamsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born to the late Leslie and Donia (nee Price) Engle on August 14, 1930, in Perry County, Kentucky.

Ruth is survived by her loving children Linda (James) Lindsey of Williamsburg, Ohio, Pam Shipley of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and Roger Fields of Mt. Orab, Ohio, along with her adored grandchildren Brandon (Christina) Lindsey of Williamsburg, Ohio, Brett Lindsey of Williamsburg, Ohio, and Shawna (Thomas) Burkholder of New Richmond, Ohio. Also left to cherish her memory are her great grandchildren Lexi, Seth, Luke, Eli, Madison, Walker, and Abby, her great-great grandson Matthew, and her brother Hubert Fields of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years Walker Fields, infant son Larry Fields, granddaughter Cynthia Milton, and siblings Joe McKnight, Woolery McKnight, Sargent Engle, Bea Morris, Lena Taulbee, and Eddie Jones.

Ruth was a founding member of the Central Baptist Church in Williamsburg, a member of the Retiree Chapter of the UAW Local 647, and an Eastern Star. Ruth was also a jet engine assembler at General Electric for 17 years.  But above all Ruth loved and cherished her family.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Megie Funeral Home located at 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154. Everyone is welcome to come and visit beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery.
