Sally A. Plungis

Sally Plungis, 92, of Finneytown, passed away Nov. 24 after a long and vibrant life. Devoted wife for 61 years of John, and mother of Joan, John (Jeannie), Glenn (Eileen), Mark (Michele) and Jeff (Bethany), and grandmother to Emily, Cody, Mikhail, Sonja and Alexander. Sally was a friend to everyone who met her, with a bubbly, inquisitive nature and an infectious smile and wit, and her expansive spirit will endure. Born to Agnes and Charles Stulga in 1924 in Elizabeth, NJ, and sister of Charlie and Paul, Sally grew up in a community of Lithuanian immigrants. Sally arrived with John in Cincinnati in 1950 and resided in Finneytown for more than 60 years. She was a faithful parishioner at St. Vivian Catholic Church, and a regular golfer at GEEEAA Park. An ardent devotee of the Jersey Shore, she enjoyed recent summer visits at Long Beach Island with her nephew Victor and his wife Di. Her final year was spent with new friends at Evergreen Retirement Community. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Vivian on Winton Road, with a reception to follow at the church's Ursuline Hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Vivian or Friends of the Krohn Conservatory.
