Shirley Warden

Shiley Marie Warden (William),daughter of the late Elaine Weinman and Lreslie Pressel, the devoted wife of William Haxton Warden Jr; extraordinary mother of Carolyn M. Warden, William H. Warden III, and Robert C. Warden (Ingrid); adoring grandmother of Charles, Rob, Elizabeth, and Anna Warden; loving sister of Jane C. Schultz (the late Richard), the late John L. Pressel (Naomi), and Lester W. Pressel (Mary); affectionate aunt to many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews; special friend to hundreds; and exceptional teacher to over two thousand students all of whom made her proud. Shirley earned a BA-ED from Wayne State University. A committed volunteer tutor and zoo educator, she generously gave her time to many charities benefiting youth, endangered wildlife, and historical preservation. She was born October 5, 1935 in Detroit, MI and passed away June 2, 2015 from complications following surgery. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 1 pm at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Cincinnati Zoo or the Anderson Foundation for Parks.
