Stanley 'Shanks' Spencer

Stanley "Shanks" Spencer passed away Thursday, February 08, 2018 at the age of 91 surrounded by family and friends. Stanley was born to the late Isaac and Bertha Spencer July 15, 1926 in Breathitt, KY.

Stanley is survived by his loving children Stanley Vaughn (Barbara) Spencer of Caney, KY, and Barry (Cindy) Spencer of Winchester, OH, he also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 9 great grand children whom he adored.

In addition to his parents Stanley was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Fay, a daughter Naomi Robin Rose, 7 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Stanley was a member of the Dodsonville Community Church, he was retired from GM, an avid gardener, and served in the US Navy during the WWII conflict.

Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at Megie Funeral Home located at 104 Spice St., Mt. Orab, OH 45154 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Index Community Church located at 1749 West Main St., West Liberty, KY 41472 on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at the Vance Cemetery in West Liberty, KY.

Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice of Hope.
