Sylvia L. Ellis, of Georgetown, Ohio, passed peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2007 from this earthly life to her heavenly one at the age of 83. Mrs. Ellis was born on May 12, 1923, on her family farm in Williamsburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Martha (nee Clark) May. Mrs. Ellis graduated from Mt. Orab High School and then Moler's Beauty Culture School in 1943. She then operated her own beauty shop in Williamsburg, Ohio for years and put her career temporarily aside when her children were born to be a devoted and talented mother. Ellis, adoring mother of the late Donna M. Williams and Paul A. Ellis and very near to her late brother, Lucian May and late cousin, Emory Clark. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Vatie and husband Donald Carson of Mt. Orab, Ohio; her grandson and his wife, Michael and Carol Carey of Rincon, Georgia; granddaughter Amy (nee Carey) and husband Douglas Simpson of Russellville, Ohio. Special memories of her will always be held close to the hearts of her great-grandchildren: Trevor Andrew Simpson, Tyler Evan Simpson and Nathan Everett Simpson of Russellville, Ohio; Kasey Branen, Stephen Michael Carey and Meagan Nicole Carey of Rincon, Georgia. She will never be forgotten by her remaining sisters and brother by marriage - friends by choice - Doris Harris, Evelyn Freeman and Eugene Butts and many close nieces, nephews and cousins.
