Tamela K. Dryden, a kind and spiritual soul whose creativity and love for life touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, in Hamersville, Ohio. Born on March 22, 1960, in Maysville, Kentucky, Tamela’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with artistic passion, deep faith, and boundless love for family and friends.
Tamela was a deeply creative individual, her spirit illuminated by a love for many artistic genres that inspired her throughout her life. She found joy and peace in kayaking along gentle waters and losing herself in the worlds woven within the pages of books, continually nurturing her soul’s thirst for discovery and imagination. Her creative heart was not only a personal refuge but also a source of joy to those around her, reflecting the depth of her gentle and thoughtful character.
She was devoted to her family, a loving wife of 48 years to Dale Owsley, whose partnership was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they shared a lifetime of cherished memories and unwavering support. Tamela was a proud and nurturing mother to her daughters, Melinda Owsley, Jessica Jandayan, and Rebecca (Kevin) Himeda, and to her son, Seth (Julia) Owsley, who along with their spouses and families, were the center of her world. Her legacy lives on vibrantly through her thirteen grandchildren: Logan, Reagan, Preston, Della, Aria, Dominic, Heléna, Ezra, Isaiah, Priscilla, June, Benjamin, and Lydia, each a precious thread in the fabric of her enduring love.
Tamela was also a cherished sister to Tracy Sexton and Angela Eads, and a beloved step-daughter to Esther Dryden, who stood by her with love and care. Although she has passed beyond this earthly realm, she leaves behind profound memories and a spirit that will forever fill the hearts of her family with warmth.
Her journey was preceded by the loss of her parents, Raymond and Barbara Dryden, and her grandparents, June and Herb Dryden, who surely welcomed her with open arms.
Tamela K. Dryden’s life was a radiant beacon of kindness, creativity, and spirituality. Her gentle presence and loving heart have left an indelible imprint on all who had the privilege to know her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we honor a life beautifully lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire those who remain blessed by her memory.
A memorial service commemorating Tamela's life will be scheduled at a later date.
