Theresa Carreiro

Theresa "Terie" (nee' DeMello) Carreiro, age 80, passed away on January 3, 2018, after a long illness. Ms. Carreiro was born and raised in New Bedford, MA, the only child of Charles T. and Alice DeMello. She is survived by three children, Michael (Debra) Carreiro of Pleasant Plain, OH, Caroline ( Charles) Murphy of Fairhaven, MA, Anthony (Diane) Carreiro of Huston, TX and seven grandchildren; Rachel, James and Christine Carreiro of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Erin, Alyssa and Charles Murphy Jr. of Fairhaven, MA, Abigail Carreiro of New Bedford, MA, one step-grandchild, Joseph Hall of Houston, TX, and one great grand-daughter, Alanah Murphy of Fairhaven, MA. Theresa was a 1954 graduate of New Bedford High School and also a 1971 graduate of LaBaron Academy. Her working career covered 46 years at various companies, and she finally retired in 1999 from ComElectric in Wareham, MA after 13 years as an Administrative Assistant. A resident of the New Bedford, MA area most of her life, Theresa relocated to the SEM Laurels Retirement Community in Milford, OH in 2013 to be close to family there. A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date in New Bedford, MA. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be directed to MOLIFE, Inc. 43 Daniel St. Fairhaven, MA 02719.
