Vernon C. Barker

Vernon C. Barker, age 76, passed away surrounded by his family's love on January 17, 2017. He was the devoted and treasured husband of Myrtle (nee Hackney) Barker, loving father of Richard (Carol) Barker Sr., and Cynthia (Anthony) Stanley, cherished grandfather of Richard Barker Jr., Crystal, Desiree and Elizabeth Barker and Aaron (Melanie) Stanley, proud great grandfather of Izabella, Tabitha, Kaylynn, Bradley, Nicholas,and Brandon Lingar, Ayden Music, Layne Wilkin, Phoenix Stanley and will also be deeply missed by his sister Doran (Jack) Hammond, and many friends. Vernon proudly served his country in Vietnam in the Navy and enjoyed fishing, holidays, and watching old westerns. He will leave a huge absence but his spirit and loving nature will live on through his family. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, January 23, 2017 with funeral service 10:30 am on Tuesday, all at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford .Burial will take place at Mount Orab Cemetery, and a reception will follow the burial at the Living Church of 5 Mile, 16908 US 68, Mount Orab, OH 45154.
