William H. Rathkamp

William H. (Bill) Rathkamp, 84, beloved husband for 62 years of Gloria Butterfield Rathkamp, and father of Bruce A. (Wanda) Rathkamp, Mark W. (Deena) Rathkamp, and Jean (Tim) Scott. He will be missed by 9 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 2 great grandsons. Also surviving is his brother, Harry C. Rathkamp of Sacramento, CA. Veteran of WWII, recipient of the Purple Heart, he excelled in the sash and door business, spending most of his career with Acme Sash and Door Company/ Adam Wholesalers, and retired in 1991. Bill found joy and success in raising Polled Hereford cattle. He raised a female Polled Hereford that won the US Polled Hereford National Grand Champion in 2003. Bill made many friends in recent years at Tri-Health and at several Milford area establishments, sharing jokes and delivering flowers and candy. Bill was known for his expression �I�m glad you got to see me� when parting from friends, and we too, were glad we had the opportunity. Those wishing to pay their respects to the family are welcome Friday, July 24th from 6-8 PM at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, 5211 Madison Rd, Cincinnati, 45227, or to charity of choice.
